For the fact that the Delta's lakes are invaded with vegetation and the shallow waters, fishing at a standstill might be more difficult. That is why usually in lakes one fishes with the spoon for pike and perch ever though in the waters there are also carps, sheatfish and others species. Carps and sheatfish usually submerge reed islets and are impossible to catch by rod. Only professional fishing tackle is successful in this kind of places. On most of the Delta's channels, streams are encountered, that is why the waters are muddy and fishing at glowing lure is not profitable, ever though there are pikes inside. Fishing at a standstill is encouraged by the lack of vegetation on the bottom of channels especially inside pits, and by the presence of fluvial sand banks that are along channels. That is why on channels and streams, one usually fishes for sheatfish, carp, perch, bream, crucian, etc. Exceptions are clogged channels or lacking stream where pike is also caught with spoon.
